A surprise benefit of our COVID-19 quarantine is our ability to engage with talented teachers outside our city! Maria Luisa Basualdo, based in Illinois, was Hong Gwi-Seok's very first teacher, back in the late 1990s, and her inspiration to become a CIYT. We are thrilled to give our community a chance to take class with her, and thrilled to welcome Spanish speakers to class. Please take advantage.
Maria L Basualdo is a level 2 Certified Iyengar Yoga teacher and registered with the Yoga Alliance, with the highest credentials at the E-500 level. Maria has been teaching yoga for over two decades both in the US and Argentina. A pioneer of Iyengar Yoga in Milwaukee, WI, and Richmond, VA, she has taught classes and workshops at yoga centers at the University-level and beyond. Her dynamic style is fun and suited for all levels, and she has the ability to teach both in Spanish and English. Maria has traveled to Pune, India, to study with the Iyengar family on several occasions, and continues her education in the US with senior teacher, Lois Steinberg.
